Big 5 Assessments client of the month: Telogical Systems
We’ve started a new tradition here Big 5 Assessments of highlighting a “Client of the Month.” With so many awesome customers, it’s hard to choose just one, but October’s honor goes to (drum roll, please) …Telogical Systems.
We first started working with Telogical Systems a year ago and felt it was about time to put them in the spotlight as they are a fantastic client to work with.
The U.S. Telecom & Cable Industry is highly competitive. Into this context, Telogical Systems provides unique data and specialized tools that help clients optimize their sales and retention processes in order to sell more, retain more, and discount less.
Founded in 2000, their services have withstood the test of time. The company employees over 60+ team members in McLean, VA (HQ), Charleston, SC, and Oklahoma City, OK.
Now for a little Q&A members of Team Telogical.
Q: What is one of Telogical’s best HR practices?
A: The Telogical Personal Effectiveness Program, rooted in the principles of Stephen R. Covey’s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, is a course provided to full-time new hires which guides them towards personal and professional growth and development. Many companies offer some form of professional development courses; however, Telogical’s take on this concept is exceptional due to the senior staff’s commitment to the program. This commitment shows in both how the course is led and in the ongoing Personal Effectiveness Program, which offers a paid half-day each quarter for those who have completed the course to reflect on their progress towards their goals and plan what they would like to achieve over the next quarter.
Q: What is the biggest current challenge for your organisation?
A: Our company has many employees with highly specialized expertise. On top of this, while the total volume of work that needs to be completed on a day-to-day basis tends to be fairly stable, the distribution of this work amongst the various areas of expertise fluctuates heavily from day-to-day and month-to-month. A meaningful challenge we face is trying to find ways to un-silo our workforce so that we can keep everyone’s workload equal and consistent.
Q: What is the best thing about working for Telogical?
A: “The core cultural values upon which Telogical is built create many positives,” said Ethan Morris, who has worked at Telogical for over a year. “The best way I can summarize them all, though, is opportunity. I have been given constant opportunities throughout my time with the company to develop my skills, grow as a worker, and take on as many responsibilities as I would like. Even better, I am given the autonomy to direct this development as I see fit and engage the tasks best suited to my skills and personality.”
Q: Have you ever hired an all-round star candidate who has brought something particularly exciting to Telogical, and what impact have they had?
A: David Kuznik is a rare combination of knowledge, skill, and genuine drive to make Telogical the best company it can be. He’s embraced many roles at Telogical, and he has excelled equally in all of them. He’s a fantastic example of someone who “walks the talk” of arête (aka excellence), the first of Telogical’s core values. This quality is highlighted in his leadership of our data audit program but is also exemplified in the many other projects and responsibilities he engages every day. He’s earned the respect of everyone at Telogical with his commitment and reliably exceptional performance.
