NOW might be your opportunity to prove that you’re a leader
During these unprecedented times we have teamed up with our reseller and friend Graham Stuart who is a Clinical Hypnotherapist, NLP Coach and Mindfulness Coach.
Over the forthcoming weeks we will be providing a regular message from Graham (regularly referred to as ‘Graham the Good’ in the office) containing suggestions for health and wellbeing in these difficult times.
We trust you will find them useful and empowering – feel free to share them with your colleagues, co-workers and friends.
Although we are living in a challenging time right now, on the flip-side it might just be your opportunity to show what a skilled leader you are.
Why is now a good opportunity?
The best time to demonstrate those skills and flex your leadership muscle is not when things are routine and normal—it’s during times of change and challenge.
1. Be of service. This is the time to showcase one of your authentic strengths, so choose one that comes naturally to you. Information will help them feel more in control and reduce their stress. Leaders set examples.
2. Initiate. Instead of sitting back and waiting for the latest directives, take the initiative to help your colleagues feel confident and stay connected.
3. Focus on others. Leaders know that the key is to focus on others, not themselves. That’s what makes a team successful. Leaders also truly care.
4. Be positive. Don’t get caught up in negativity or reproach. Be the voice of enthusiasm and positivity.
5. Acknowledge others. Effective leaders don’t seek praise; they bestow it upon others.
6. Focus on the mission. It’s easy to lose the plot during times of change and uncertainty. Be the person who reminds people of the mission and get people focused on a strategy.
